Hi, I’m Tara!

I’ve been all over the world (~50 countries) and have done a lot. So much so that I named my son Atlas and have a tattoo of the world on my back. I am a xenophile, and I love cultures, but even more than that, I love the people that comprise the culture. I speak several languages in addition to English, including Spanish, some Greek, and I studied Arabic.

My profession derived from my love of people, and as a result, I earned my PhD in Human Development. Today, I am a professor of public health, global health, and psychology. My research method style is qualitative because I want to give people a voice. My research earned my acceptance as a fellow into The Explorers Club.

I have a vast amount of experience conducting research in various settings, publishing in high-impact-factor journals, presenting research internationally, and writing books.

I am the editor of Elsevier’s Dialogues in Health. I have also mentored and chaired over 400 research projects. I am a member of Workplace Health Without Borders. I have worked on a nonprofit in Kenya for over a decade, Water 2 Schools, that gets children in schools water. Lastly, I am a human rights legal expert for Communitology.

My Approach

I respect the fact that people need communication now more than ever, especially since we are somewhat confined to our online presence.

I am always available by phone and text. I also get my work done very quickly. Like, the next day or same day… That’s just so I can still have time to run out and catch some waves. I’m a surfer, so I’m very laid back when it comes to communication. Just call me!

Timeliness

I am extremely quick at getting students feedback, papers or emails returned, copyedits done, and always have available time for phone calls (I might be walking my dog or driving). I am the queen of multi-tasking, but I make it happen.

Communication

Email, text me, or Whatsapp me, add me on Insta, do whatever you need to do to get feel comfortable with our relationship to get your project going! I am here for questions almost 24/7 (but not quite).
